Oliver and Hickey’s Holiday
Oliver and Hickey’s Holiday
As I am sure you are aware we have had my niece (Laura) and her friend (Hickey) staying with us last week. It was interesting for Chris and I as we are sin children, so having two 19 year olds under the roof was different - I think Chris is relieved to get his bathroom back and some peace and quiet!! I don’t see Laura that often so it was good to have time with her, although to be fair we didn’t see that much of them as it was their holiday and they wanted to be out and about on their own.

The Last Day of Virgen del Carmen Celebrations
Tonight is the end of the week of celebrations for Virgen del Carmen. This is a great evening and well worth being out and about for as the port is usually buzzing, and I love taking part in the Spanish traditions. We have actually missed it a lot of years as we were traveling over the summers, and the first year we missed the procession because we didn’t have our timings right and were still enjoying a glass of wine in some friends’ apartment. The next year we watched it by accident as we
To Clean Or Not To Clean
Ok I don’t mean literally whether to live in a mess or do some cleaning. My question really is how much to do oneself on the basis that most of we girls find cleaning and housework generally about as boring as any man would if they got around to doing much of it. Of course there are women who actually enjoy this dubious task and good luck to them, and there are those who end up doing extra as a job, the latter being integral to my question. When I was working full time in the UK (ok a long tim
Tostadas And Chat
Ended up down in the port today, just at coffee and ´tostada time´for me. This was interesting following my previous post ¨Tostadas - Jury’s Out”. It was just after 1pm and therefore too late for a tostada at the Milenio, so we headed for La Plaza. I ordered a tomato, tuna and cheese one and, having read my previous post, Heather asked me if I would like oregano with it! AND said that she is going to start ordering in some integral ones. I even got some home-made herb and garlic oil to dri
